Tainatar is a band formed in 2001 by Pekka Pitkäkoski
and Antti Polameri. Its original idea was to gather
together musicians connected by an interest of making independent rhythmic music.

In Tainatar's music progressive rock is fused with balladic expression favouring clear, integrated pieces. In the autumn of 2006 the band released a single called Vastatuulen Lintu ("Upwind Bird"). At the moment Tainatar is working on its debut album. The record is about to be released in June 2008.
